Famous Bulgarian Perperikon and Greek Dimotika to become one tourism destination

A project of the renowned archaeologist prof.Nikolay Ovcharov foresees archaeological sites Bulgarian Perperikon near Kardjali town and Dimotika in Greece to become a joint tourism destination.
After his return from Japan, the archaeologist has submitted documents for a project valued at 5 million EUR. The project envisages the unification of the two cities in Bulgarian and Greece.
About 225 000 tourists visited Perperikon in 2008 and the number is constantly increasing, told Prof.Ovcharov at a press conference.
A project estimated at 2,8 million EUR has already started, as a part of the funds are allocated for the construction of a tourism information center (about 1,6 million EUR) and 1 million EUR will be provided for the conservation of Perperikon.
In conclusion, the famous archaeologist Ovcharov expressed his opinion that Perperikon is expected to become one of the world monuments.
